THE CRUSADES A film series Emory University Fall 2004

All films will be screened on Tuesday evenings in 101 White Hall.
Each film will be preceded by a five-minute historical introduction and followed by a twenty-minute discussion.
Films are free and open to the public.
This series is cosponsored by the Department
of History, the Department of Middle East and South Asian Studies, and

The Milky Way (La Voie Lactée, 1969, France, 105 mins). Dir Luis Buñuel. Two pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela in Spain encounter a catalogue of medieval Christian heresies. From the poster advertising the US release: "Buñuel takes on Jesus, Mary, Satan, the Marquis de Sade, Jansenites, various bishops, cardinals, popes, and assorted heretics and lunatics. Hallelujah!"
